BJP State President Ashok Khajuria today inaugurated “Special Yuva Membership Drive” alongwith Prabhari J&K Yuva Morcha and BJYM National Treasurer Aseem Goel and BJYM State president Pawan Khajuria at Parade Ground, here.
This drive was launched as part of BJYM’s country-wide programme to bring 50,000 youth into the party fold in the state. A large number of youth hailing from Nowabad- Bhatindi and Sunjwan areas of Gandhi Nagar Assembly constituency- Sharief Malik, Mohd. Ashraf, Sharief Hussain, Mohd. Akram, Kuldeep Singh, Surjit Singh, Balwinder Kumar and Vinod Kumar embraced BJP, who were welcomed into the party and garlanded by the senior leaders of BJP and BJYM.
Speaking on the occasion, Khajuria said that the youth is the strength of the nation and their strength should be used for nation building but the present Congress-led governments at the centre and in the state have totally neglected them. Today, lakhs of highly educated youth are without jobs across the country. How unfortunate it is that these youth are lathi-charged and booked under fabricated cases when they peacefully hold demonstrations against failure of the government to provide them jobs while those involved in terrorist activities are rewarded when they surrender after killing dozens of innocent people.
Khajuria took the Congress to task for taking a stand on the issue of Ram Setu which, he said, has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. He said what the Congress did, was not even done by Mohd. Ghaznavi, Mohd. Gouri or Aurangzeb and declared that the BJP will, under no situation, allow the Congress to go ahead with any such move which is against the wishes of the Hindus.
He said the September 12 nationwide successful bandh has proved that the people all over the country, irrespective of their religiouis affiliations, has disapproved the decision of the Congress to dismantle Ram Setu and its stand on the issue and that the Congress still has time to mend its working otherwise it will have to pay a heavy price.
Khajuria said that the corruption, price rise, unemployment, discrimination and atrocities on women are rise in the state and the State Chief Minister talks of Khushaal State. It is a nothing but a political staunt aimed at diverting the attention of the people from the real issues. He demanded a “White Paper” containing details about the total “Forest Land” in Bhatindi and Chatta areas, the “Forest Land illegally occupied by the Ministers, MLAs and politicians” and “the measures taken till now to get the illegally occupied land vacated”.
Aseem Goel, in his address, charged the Congress Yuva leaders of misusing their positions thus bringing bad name to the youth of the country. “Instead of working for the mitigation of the problems being faced by the youth of the country, they have involved themselves in criminal activities,” he added.
