| Awantipora blast cases solved | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Sep 13 Police on Thursday claimed to have achieved a major break through by arresting four Lashker Cadres involved in twin grenade attacks on tourist vehicles in Awantipora area. Official sources informes that the arrested militants on July 30 lobbed a grenade on tourist vehicle at Chursoo, Awantipora in which a woman and her two kids lost their lives while four others got injured. The same group executed another attack at Awantipora Bus stand on August 8 targeting another tourist Vehicle in which 8 pedestrian were injured as the grenade missed the intended target. The arrested persons identified as Tariq Ahmad, son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat, resident of Beighpora, Awantipora, Parvaiz Ahmad Lone, son of Bashir Ahmad Lone, resident of Panzgam, Awantipora, Liaqat-ul-Islam Lone, son of Mohammad Sultan Lone, resident of Panzgam and Ummar Wani, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, resident of Panzgam, Awantipora were arrested on specific information from a hide out Three Chinese hand grenades have been recovered from their possession. Sources said that the arrested militants were working under the then district Commander LeT Shopian, Abdul Hai alias Khubaid alias Saad, who was eliminated in an encounter earlier last month.. Sources said that they were directed to establish a module in Srinagar to carry out similar attacks in the city. However, they fall in police net before they could succeed in their nefarious designs.
