Delayed customer service and multiple technical snags in BSNL's cell service are proving to be troublesome for the subscribers across the region.
It is hard for the BSNL cell user to complete his talk in a single call. He is compelled to dial many times either due to non clarity of voice or frequent disconnections.
Network coverage has been the problem and it is observed that the signal remains evading for days together even in the main areas of Jammu city. At the time of availability of network it is almost impossible to contact the subscriber using services of other network.
The technical snag in auto update of balance in prepaid scheme keeps the subscribers uncertain about the balance in his cell phone. This service of BSNL remains defunct for weeks together much for the trouble of subscribers. Earlier BSNL used to update the balance after every call but with the passage of time they do not bother to inform their service users even after weeks. Post paid services users suffer with the same problem as "USG" remains defunct for days together.
The most worrisome for prepaid subscribers is that the scratch cards meant for recharge of cell phones are not accepted. The frequent requests of subscribers are responded with "invalid number". The subscriber is left with the options to return the card to the dealer or to throw it in the dustbin. For a dealer it is almost impossible to accept the scratched card.
