| 16-member wrestling team selected for nationals | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 13 Jammu and Kashmir Indian Style Wrestling Association today named a 16-member team for the forthcoming 43rd Senior National Championship to be held at Andheri (West) in Mumbai. The biggest ever prize event in the history of wrestling in India has many attractions including Rs 3.25 lakh cash prizes for the first four position holders of the Hind Kesri (heavy weight) title winner, said Shiv Kumar Sharma president Indian Style Wrestling Association of J&K. To be held between October 5 and October 7, the mega event also hosts women’s Hindi Kesari title bout having a cash prizes of over Rs 1.20 lakh. Besides this, the winner and runners of in different weights shall also be given cash prizes varying from Rs 10,000 to Rs 2000, disclosed Sharma. Earlier, in the late today evening, the five-member team selected the 16-member team in eight different weight categories. The selection committee was comprised of Bansi Lal, Mulkh Raj, Prem Choudhary, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Bansi Lal (BSNL). The selected team will be attending a 20-day coaching camp at MA Stadium before their departure on October 2 for the venue. The team: 58 kg: Pritam Lal (Mishriwala), Niaz Mohd. (Raipur). 55 kg: Kulbir Singh (Bhalwal), Sunny Sharma (Muthi). 60 kg: Surinder Singh (R S Pura), Khadim Hussain (R S Pura). 66 kg: Sukhwinder (Jammu), Mohd Akram (Jammu). 74 kg: Rajiv Kumar (R S Pura), Qasim Din Billu (J&K Police, Jammu). 84 kg: Mohd Akram (Chowadi, Jammu), Jakir Hussain (Sarore). 96 kg: Sunil Sharma (Jammu), Amanat Ali (Jammu). Plus 96 kg: Baljit Singh (R S Pura), Akshay Sharma (Jammu).
