| HSS Tikri wins inter-school cricket tourney | | | Early Times Reporer Udhampur | Sep 13 Powered by an excellent bowling show by Ganesh, Higher Secondary School (HSS) Tikri today lifted the inter-school cricket tournament of district Udhampur which was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Mini-Stadium, here. In the low scoring final, it was Ganesh who made all the difference with his superb bowling thereby helping his side beat Vijay Higher Secondary School Udhampur by a margin of 10 runs. Ganesh was later adjudged man of the match. Earlier, after winning the toss and opted to bat first, HSS Tikri bowled out for 78 runs in the stipulated 25 overs. Gurdev Singh was top scorer with 11 runs while no other batsman could touch the double figure mark. From Vijay School, Uttam took three wickets, followed by Amit Chander, Anil and Iqbal who shared two each. In reply, Vijay Higher Secondary School could not achieve the target and lost all their wickets for 68 runs in 23.2 overs Anil made highest 13 runs. Ganesh was most successful bowler who turned the match in favour of HSS Tikri with his four wickets haul. Sahil bagged three while Pankaj and Sahil Sharma took one each. In the final, Municipal Councilor of Ward No. 4, Parvez was chief guest.
