| Manhas flays govt decision | | | Early Times Reporter

District president of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Poonch, Hamid Manhas has condemned the decision of the Govt for not opening University at Surankot, as was announced by the Chief Minister and for which 350 kanal of land was also identified. He said strong resentment was brewing among the people of Surankot, who have been left with no alternative than to launch agitation.
Manhas also alleged that work on Mugal Road on a stretch from Dorian to Poshana has been shelved for obvious reasons which has been entrusted with accomplishing the road project was facing various obstacles and hindrances, allegedly created by officials of Forest Department, Manhas said that compensation in lieu of land coming under the Mugal Road has already been disbursed to the concerned quarter for constructing road with a width of 132 feet, but the construction company was not being given a free hand to accomplish the job.
Demanding a thorough probe into the matter Hamid Manhas stated that the road project being an alternative road to the Valley was of paramount importance and warranted its early completion.
