| HC directs state to produce selection record | | Selection of 221 teachers Jammu District challenged | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 14 :- Justice Nirmal Singh of J&K High Court Jammu wing, in a writ petition filed by Seema Raina and 12 others, issued notice to state of J&K through Chief Secretary; J&K Service Selection Board through its Chairman, Secretary, Administrative, Commissioner/ Secretary Education Department and Director School Education Jammu and private respondents and directed that the record pertaining to the selection of 221 teachers of Jammu district be kept available on the next date of hearing. Justice Singh, after hearing Adv Surinder Kour appearing for the petitioners, permitted dasti service as prayed for. In the petition filed by the petitioners it has been submitted that the petitioners are highly qualified M Sc, M Ed, MA B Ed, M Sc B Ed and has obtained 41.05 points and belong to open merit category had been ignored while less qualified candidates were selected even when one of the petitioner is a Post Graduate, and seeking quashment of selection for the post of teachers for Jammu District issued by the Secretary SSB published in a daily newspaper on August 17, 2007 by which the respondents have selected 221 private respondents to the post of teachers in open merit category.
