By attending the annual convention organised by Panun Kashmir and staying away from the BJP sponsored training camp for party workers senior BJP leader,Prof. Hari Om, conveyed in ample measure his displeasure over the style of functioning of the party leadership in Jammu.
Hari Om was conspicuous among those who were present during the annual convention of Panun Kashmir here today. He was absent from the BJP training camp for its workers which also began today. When Shanta Kumar, BJP in charge for Jammu and Kashmir and former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, who arrived at the camp a bit late, was asked about Hari Om’s absence from the camp he said “he may not be well.” When reminded that Om was present at the Panun Kashmir convention Shanta Kumar said “I talked to Hari Om. Everything is all right. Ours is a united house and Prof Hari Om is part of our family. He has not gone out of the party.”
But Hari Om wanted to convey his dismay over the handling of the party affairs by its leadership in Jammu because despite BJP Chief, Ashok Khajuria, requesting him, on phone, that he should attend the training camp he preferred to stay away.
One thing seems to be certain. BJP leaders at the national level have not discarded Hari Om. They consider him among top party leaders from Jammu and that is the reason that he has been invited, according to inside reports, to participate in the “Chintan Bethak” to be held in Delhi. And not more than five party leaders, including Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, Ashok Khajuria, Dr Nirmal Singh and Bali Bhagat are also expected to attend the “bethak.”
