| LeT militant killed in Kashmir | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar|Sep 14 : A Pakistani militant was killed in an encounter with police and army in Tujar Sharief of Sopore, during the wee hours today. Official sources quoting ASP Sopore told News Agency of Kashmir that police received specific information about the presence of militants in Tujar-Sharief Sopore. Police and army launched a joint operation in the area in the early hours today, which culminated into a gun battle, sources said. The ASP further stated that in the ensuring gunfight that lasted for quiet sometime one Pakistani militant of Lashker-e-Toiba was killed. Identity of the killed militant was being ascertained. One AK series rifle, two AK magazines and AK ammunition was recovered from the site of encounter. Meanwhile, unidentified militants fired upon Mohammad Abdullah Dar, age 50, son of Abdul Majid, resident of Hardu Hanger near Matibugh, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Yaripora resulting in his grievous inquiries. Police sources said that the gunmen fired on his both legs and later escaped from the spot. The injured was rushed to the hospital, where his condition was stated to be critical.
