Police recovers kidnapped girl from Punjab

Chenani police today recovered a kidnapped girl and arrested kidnaper from neighbouring Punjab state.
According to reports, a report was lodged by Mohd Latief S/O Mustafa R/O Chalyar (Chenani) at police station Chenani that his 17 year daughter Shamima Akhtar has been kidnapped by one Khem Raj S/o Pritam Singh, Caste Thakur R/O Bashat (Chenani) besides stealing Rs. 23000. On this report, a case FIR No. 64/2007 u/s 363/380 RPC was registered and investigations taken up.
Keeping in view the sensitivity of the case, a special team was constituted by Addl. SP Udhampur Anil Magotra. The team comprising Dy. SP (Hqrs) Amit Gupta, SHO Police station Chenani inspector Anu Sharma and SI Amar Chand Bhagat rounded up number of suspects and also conducted raids at various places in the state. Details of incoming/outgoing calls made from the mobile number of kidnapper were also obtained from concerned authorities. Meanwhile, photographs/antecedents of both kidnaper and kidnapped girl were sent to all the police stations in the country through POLNET.
During further investigation, clues regarding presence of kidnapper was obtained in Amritsar and a special team comprising ASI Parkash Chand, HC Pawan Kumar and Sget. Multan Singh constituted for affecting the recovery of the kidnapped girl which was sent to Amritsar (Punjab) and the team successfully recovered the kidnapped girl along with the kidnapper from Amwalia, Amritsar and took them to Chenani police station for further interrogation. Reports said later police sent the girl to hospital for medical checkup and is further investigating the matter. .
