| PDP holds meeting of Distt Presidents | | | Early times reporter Jammu | Sep 14 In order to rejuvenate and gear up party activities in Jammu province People’s Democratic Party (PDP) organized a meeting of all distt presidents under the chairmanship of MLC Ved Mahajan state vice president. Speaking on the occasion Mahajan exhorted the party leaders to go to the people and acquaint them with the achievements of the party. He said it was under the leadership of Mufti Mohd Sayeed as chief minister that peace was restored tourism sector revived hill development councils established from Leh Kargil. He said that BJP has long been exploiting the people of Jammu region in the name of discrimination with Jammu Mahajan said PDP has clear vision that there would be no political exploitation and that party firmly stands for regional federalism in its true spirit and equal share to all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir. Regarding troops withdraw issue, he stated PDP has been demanding gradual withdraw of forces has prevailed in a phased manner. M.P T.S Bajwa while addressing that the achievements of the party are so many during the chief Ministership Mufti Mohd. Sayeed. He said party from Jammu region would show result in the forth coming elections on the basis of these numerous achievements. MLA Shanti Devi demanded reservation of four scats for women candidates in the coming elections, two each from Jammu and Kashmir regions. General Secretary Daman Bhasin stressed on the need of self/realization and asked the district president and other activists to show their presence amongst the masses and be assertive. St. Party secretary Renu Azad, in her address said that mufti has maintained a very holistic approach towards vexed problem of J&K and added PDP patron, being a man of vision and mission, has tackled critical situations in an effective manner, brought balanced improvement in security situations and equal development of all the regions. Others who spoke on the occasion included Nissar Khan, Surjeet Kour, Romesh Koul, Baldev Slathia, Surinder Singh Fouji, Gurparshad Verma, Ashok Jogi, Ashan Mirza, Jyoti Jogi, Sohit Sharma, Shakeel Bhat, Kirpal Singh, Sukhvinder Singh, Darshan Magotra and Sushil Jamwal.
