| Inter- state vehicle lifters’ gang busted, 2 arrested | | 7 stolen vehicles recovered | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 15 Nowabad police today arrested two- motorcycle lifters and recovered seven vehicles from their possession stolen from Talab Tillo and Bakshi Nagar areas. Following three incidents of two-wheeler thefts in Talab Tillo area, a police team was constituted, to identity and arrest the thieves and recover the stolen vehicles, headed by SHO police station Nowabad Inspector Kulbir Handa and IC/PP Talab Tillo ASI Parvez Sajad. Reports said while investigating the matter police team picked up two youths namely Ramesh Kumar son of Rajesh Kumar resident of Shaktipur, Orissa at present at Lale-da-Bagh, Jammu and Raj Kumar son of Kali Dass resident of H NO 267 Sarwal, Jammu for questioning, on suspicion and during interrogation they confessed their involvement in seven theft cases including three of police post Talab Tillo and four of police station Bakshi Nagar. Reports said they disclosed that the motorcycles and scooters stolen by them have been sold out to different persons in Jammu city and its surrounding areas. Subsequently different teams were constituted and the recoveries of all these stolen vehicles were affected and their interrogation is still going on and more recoveries and arrests are likely to be effected. Sources said during interrogation they also disclosed the names of some other persons working with them and also told about their links in some other states, which help them to sell the vehicles.
