| SMVDU holds lecture on trends in management held | | | Early Times Reporter KATRA |Sep 15- In a high profile 3-day lecture on changing trends in management sector in the wake of globalization at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, top academics of the country spelt out the thrust areas and promotional strategies. Dr. Preeta. H. Vyas from Indian Institute of Management (IIMA) Ahmedabad gave a lecture on sales promotion schemes and discussed in depth the scheme design and analyzed several brand names that have been creating waves in the management sector around the world. She also discussed the sales promotion strategies in durable product category and services sector. In the durable product category she discussed the case of "Akai TV" pre-liberalization and post–liberalization. In the service sectors, she analyzed the case of "Aptech computer education career counseling shames". She also threw light on trade promotion by discussing the case of “Navneet publication Ltd". The management students of the varsity presented promotion schemes for variety of products ranging from FMCG sector, Telecom sector, Snacks, Tourism and so on. She evaluated the performance of all groups and the group which presented the future schemes for Emami Boroplus Prickly Heat Powder got maximum score.
