| LIC employee, Sarpanch arrested for harbouring militants | | | ET EXCLUSIVE JAMMU | August 14:
An employee of Life Insurance Company and a Sarpanch were taken into custody following their alleged involvement in harbouring militants and providing them cell phones, money and vital information. The duo who were arrested by the Samba Police today during a raid in village Kalibali have been sent to Joint Interrogation Centre for questioning. The reports suggest that during the interrogation both the LIC employee and the Sarpanch have confessed their involvement with the militants and disclosed the names of some militants hiding in Jammu. They also confirmed that they had given shelter to some of the militants at their homes on July 11 last for 2 to 3 days besides providing them the cell phones, money and some vital information. According to police sources the arrested persons have been identified as Krishan Lal Sarpanch and Mohan Lal resident of Rakh Antoli an employee of LIC. On the directions of the IGP Jammu, the Samba police also conducted searches in the houses of both the alleged accused and recovered some incriminating documents. The interrogation of both the accused is continuing and some vital clues are expected after the interrogation is completed.
