| Pack off Shailinder to Delhi: Zargar to CM | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 15: While the Qazi Mohammad Afzal crisis is yet to be resolved that another potential controversy has come up to stare at the face of Congress-Peoples Democratic Party relations. Senior PDP leader and Agriculture Minister Abdul Aziz Zargar is reported to have written a letter to the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad asking him to pack off Public Works Secretary Shailinder Kumar to central deputation or take the department away from him. A brief bout of argument between the Minister for State for Roads and Buildings Mohammad Khalil Bandh and the Secretary to Government Roads and Buildings department Shalinder Kumar in presence of Agriculture Minister Abdul Aziz Zargar has now snowballed into a full drawn controversy. Shailender Kumar had spoken to the Minister in a manner which was dubbed by the senior PDP leaders as highly unbecoming of him. Sources said that after due deliberations at the party level, the Agriculture Minister Abdul Aziz Zargar, who is also the leader of the PDP legislature party, has written to the Chief Minister to send Shailender on central deputation. "We have taken a stand on the issue as the officer has on several occasion willfully violated the protocol and let down the Minister of State", said a senior PDP leader. He said that mere administrative reshuffle on changing department of the officer will not satisfy as we have clearly written to the Chief Minister to send the officer on central deputation. Sources said that the Chief Minister is yet to react on the issue. Shailinder Kumar, it may be mentioned here, is considered close to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister had earlier taken him as a Secretary in his Secretariat and was later given additional charge of the Works department when the going had got tough between the Roads and Buildings Minister Gulchain Singh Charak and the then administrative secretary Atul Dulloo.
