							  | | HM concerned over intelligence gaps, keeping tab on senior official | | | | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 30: The killing of Burhan Wani, which has exposed the wide gap and lack of synergy between central and state intelligence agencies working in the state has been a cause of concern for the home ministry.
"There is clear lack of synergy between the two agencies. Both are giving different accounts of the situation which is far from becoming the normal. And it's reflected in the fact in the statement of the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti who said forces didn't know that Burhan Wani was there. While the DGP of the state had earlier said that CM was taken in the loop. It seems the two are moving in different directions and it can't be accepted," said a senior official.
The MoS Home Kiren Rijiju also hinted at this point by stating that that the state and central intelligence agencies should not allow "any gap" to in getting the intelligence. He had said the ministry had noted that there is gap and this seemingly gap can become every costly affair.
The ministry is likely to hold the meeting of the top officials of the state and central agencies to work out a modalities where the information is shared seamlessly and they will be given the note of how the information on the same subjected had different accounts. The home ministry also doubts that some top officials of the state police are not on the same page and it's also the reason that why the situation is not coming under control when it should have been especially after the visit of the home minister.
"It seems that DPG and the chief of the intelligence unit of the state is not on the same page. That's also the reason that the CM had given a bit of vague statement. The DGP is the head of the state police and we will not tolerate any breach of command structure especially when the situation is very volatile and the offending official may get a harsh and severe treatment," said the official
