| Sepoy shoots himself to death | | | Early Times Reporter
Srinagar, Sept 16
A BSF jawan ended his life by shooting himself with his service weapon at Karna in Kupwara district of Kashmir's North district.
Official sources told News Agency of Kashmir that Sepoy Shalinder (970059604) of 67 Bn BSF posted in Karna Sector was critically injured when he shoot himself with his service weapon at BSF Camp Karnah, Kupwara last night.
Hearing the gun shots his colleagues rushed to the barrack and noticed him lying in pool of blood. The injured Sepoy was rushed to 92 base hospitals Srinagar where he scummbed to his injuries, sources added.
The cause behind taking the extreme step was not known immediately, sources said adding police has registered a case and started investigations.
Suicides in armed forces are increasing day by day despite the claims of government that efforts are on to minimize such incidents.
