| J&K to host five Ranji Trophy matches | | | Early Times Reporter JAMMU| Sep 16 Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has been entrusted with the job to host five matches of the Ranji Trophy (Plate Group-B) for the forthcoming season starting from first week of November. The first match, earlier allotted to Delhi, has now been assigned to J&K. The match will be played between J&K and RSPB from November 3 to 6. In other matches, J&K will be playing against MPCA (November 15 to 18), Jharkhand (November 23 to 26), Haryana (December Ist to 4) and Goa (December 9 to 12). However, the venues for all these matches are still to be decided by the JKCA. But keeping into consideration the cold weather in Kashmir, it is expected that all these matches shall be played in Jammu. Meanwhile, JKCA has also been given four matches (two-dayer and one-dayer) of the women’s (senior) cricket tournament. Two matches between J&K and Delhi have been scheduled at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Srinagar. The two-dayer game shall be played on October 21 to October 22 while the one-dayer has been scheduled a day later on October 23 at the same venue. Other two matches between J&K and Punjab shall be played at MA Stadium, here. The two-dayer on October 31st and November Ist followed by the one-dayer on November two. In other women’s matches have been scheduled at Himachal (J&K V/s Himachal from October 16) and at Haryana (J&K V/s Haryana from November 5).
