Over 200 young and budding boys and girls drawn from 11 different educational institutions and clubs took part in the 3rd inter-school Taekwondo championship held Sprawling Buds School, Bantalab, near here.
In this championship, competitions were organized in 13 different weight categories in both boys and girls sections. The event was conducted by the Jammu District Taekwondo Association under the supervision of its vice-president, Gurvinder Singh Rakhwal.
Later, in the prize distribution function, president of J&K Taewkwondo Association, PC Sharma was chief guest, who distributed medals among the winners. He was also assisted in medal distribution by Secretary of Tawi Trekkers, Ram Khajuria and Principal of the school, Pooja Sharma. The chief guest lauded the efforts of the school in promoting sports among the young children.

GIRLS: Below 17 kg: Soifa (Modern Academy), Ist; Anshu Pandita (9Sprawling Buds), 2nd and Bhumika Sharma (Sprawling Buds), 3rd. 18-21 kg: Shabnam (Modern Academy), Ist; Shilpa (Shining Star), 2nd and Skashi (Shakti Public School), 3rd. 25-28 kg: Siafat (Modern Academy), Ist ; Roshni (Project Model), 2nd and Mehvish (Sprawling Buds), 3rd. 36-40 kg: Sadaf (Modern Academy), Ist and Priya (Project Model), 2nd.
BOYS: Below 16 kg: Arnav Chopra (DPS), Ist; Aryan Bhat (Sprawling Buds), 2nd and Akash Sahni (Sprawling Buds), 3rd. 18-21 kg: Mohit (Shakti Public School), Ist; Nikhil (TTHS), 2nd and Bhuvnesh (Sprawling Buds), 3rd. 22-25 kg: Bhaskar Gupta (VAOI), Ist; Shoaib Iqbal Khan (Modern Academy), 2nd and Vedhant Honda (TTHS), 3rd. 26-30 kg: Sahil (TTHS), Ist; Amir (Lawrance), 2nd; Pardeep Singh (TTHS) and Rajat (Shining Star), joint third. 31-34 kg: Danish Bhardwaj (TTHS), Ist; Vishal Seth (Shakti Public), 2nd and Pankaj (TTHS) and Sidharth (TTHS), joint 3rd. 35 to 38 kg: Paras (TTHS), Ist; Shubam (Shining Star), 2nd and Dev Ashish (VAOI), 3rd. 39-42 kg: Rohit Sharma (Project Model), Ist; Shafqat (Lawrance), 2nd and Sahil (Shining Star), 3rd. 44 to 46 kg: Surya Bhanu (TTHS), Ist; Rishab (Project Model), 2nd and Varun (TTHS), 3rd. 47-50 kg: Ankush (Project Model), Ist; Vipil (VAIO), 2nd and Nikhil (TTHS), 3rd.
