Prof. Hari Om,vice President and spokesman of the state unit of the BJP,who had announced withdrawal from active politics, has been persuaded to return home and start afre.
During their two-day visit to Jammu senior BJP leaders, including anta Kumar, incharge of party affairs in Jammu and Kamir and former Himachal Prade Chief Minister, Ram Lal General Secretary and Pyarelal Khandelwal, succeeded in ironing out differences between Prof. Hari Om and the President of the state unit of the BJP, Aok Khajuria, at a meeting held here yesterday.
Aok Khajuria confirmed today that "differences have been resolved and there are no dissensions in the BJP.Ours is a united house and all our differences are resolved."
Inside reports said that Prof. Hari Om explained the reason which prompted him to quit active politics. He was, however, assured by senior party leaders that there was no question of sidelining him while functioning as vice-president and party spokesman.
Instructions were given to Khajuria to allow a free hand to Prof. Hari Om so that nobody trespassed his jurisdiction while functioning as party spokesman. Initially Prof. Hari Om had expressed his inability to devote time for party work because of his some academic commitments but later on opened his mind and cited instances in which he felt he had been sidelined.
anta Kumar conveyed to him the need for protecting unity in the BJP rank and file and said that his resignation from active politics had not been accepted. On the request of anta Kumar and other leaders Prof. Hari Om has agreed to return to active politics ortly.
