MSMED Institute organizes women empowerment programme

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute J & K Jammu, a functionary under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India today organized Intensive Industrial Motivation on Women Empowerment through self-employment opportunities. The programme was held in association with Govt. Polytechnic for women, Jammu at the auditorium hall of the polytechnic. Nearabout 250 participants who are acquiring technical skills in the area of computer, embroidery, textile designing, beauty culture and modern office management under the scheme of community polytechnic/IRG attended the programme.
Majority of the beneficiaries included the participants from BPL families and SC/ST categories. The objective of the programme is to motivate the participants for self-employment by building up their confidence. . Pramod Jain (IAS) Commissioner secretary higher and technical education was the chief guest, Jain emphasized that entrepreneurs skills can be acquired by attending Entrepreneurip development programme. He advised the participants to have killer instinct and better time management for being successful Entrepreneurip. He also appreciated role of ME Development Institute in the promotion of Entrepreneurip and asked to organize such programmes in all polytechnics of the state.
The others who spoke during the program included: Prof. Rita Jitender, . R.C. Chopra- Director, ME Development Institute, Jammu, . armila Thakur, DGM, RBI, . Virender arma Dy. Director ME Development Institute, Jammu, . N.H Malik Principal Govt. Polytechnic for Women Jammu, . Nare Gupta, Project Officer of community polytechnic scheme at Govt. polytechnic for women at Jammu and Smt. Richa Gupta a successful entrepreneur.
It was also informed that during the programme the institute all be conducting eight week Entrepreneurip skill development programme for 25 participants selected from among the students of community polytechnic scheme who are undergoing skill development training at Govt. Polytechnic for Women Jammu.
