| Cops among 5 killed in highway accidents | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 17 At least five persons, including two cops, were killed and three others were injured in two separate road mishaps near Chanderkot area of Ramban district on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, this afternoon. Four persons were killed when a truck skidded off the road and fell into a Nallah near Chanderkote in Ramban district, this afternoon, official sources told News Agency of Kashmir. Giving details a senior police officer said that a truck, JK05-5121, was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar when it met with an accident near Chanderkot. All the four persons, including driver, traveling in the truck were killed in the mishap, he said adding, one of them was identified as Selection Grade constable Showkat Ahmed of Kulgam. The identification of other deceased persons was being ascertained. "We could identity only one of them till date", the police officer said adding; "Names of others are being ascertained". Meanwhile, one person was killed and three others were injured when a Tempo Travels met with an accident near Makhan Dhaba, Chanderkot. The vehicle, which was on its way from Srinagar to Doda, skidded off the road and fell in a gorge in the outskirts of Chanderkot. The deceased has been identified as Constable Mohinder Singh of 4 th IRP.
