Security forced claimed to have gunned down a Lashker-e-Toiba militant in Bhudal area of Poonch district, Monday afternoon.
An official spokesman said that security forces launched a joint operation at Jandakhos in the upper reaches of Bhudal, during the wee hours today.
The search operation culminated in a fierce gun battle with a group of militants, the spokesman said adding in the ensuing fire fight one LeT militant was shot dead.
He was identified as Abu Azad Jafri of Pakistan. One AK 56, 90 rounds, 3 magazines, 3 mobile sets along with chargers and 1 hand grenade were recovered from his possession.
The encounter was going on till the last report came in. Sources said that at least two more militants were holed up in the area
