Charak reviews pace of dev works in Jammu, Kathua & Samba

Jammu | Sep 17 - Minister for R&B Gulchain Singh Charak convened a meeting to review the pace of progress on various developmental works under execution in R&B sector in the districts of Jammu, Samba and Kathua here today.
Commissioner-Secretary R&B Shalinder Kumar, DDC Kathua Sarita Chouhan, DDC Samba B. S. Jamwal, ADDC Jammu Charanjit Singh, Chief Engineer PWD Jammu M. M. Sharma, Chief engineer PMGSY Mr. Mohd Shafi Mir and Superintending Engineers of various circles were present in the meeting.
It was revealed in the meeting that work on 17 km Janipora- Ambgrota road and 14 km long Satwari- R. S. Pura road which are taken in hand under CRF scheme at an estimated cost of Rs. 728.50 lakh and Rs. 1214 lakh respectively and expenditure to the tune of Rs. 395 lakh registered on the construction of Janipora- Ambgrota road till date while Rs. 910 lakh were spent so far on the construction of Satwari- R. S. Pura road.
It was apprised that for Samba district, Rs. 80 lakh were approved under state sector and Rs. 300 lakh under loan, out of which Rs. 40 lakh and Rs. 150 lakh respectively were released so far, of which an expenditure to the tune Rs. 51.78 lakh has been made till date registering 25.35 percent achievement. Similarly in Jammu district, an outlay of Rs. 120 lakh under state sector and Rs. 650 lakh under loan were approved for R&B sector, out of which Rs. 28.11 lakh under state sector and Rs. 73.84 lakh have so far been spent on various schemes under execution registering physical achievements upto 38.20 percent. Likewise, for Kathua district, Rs. 180 lakh under state sector and Rs. 700 lakh under loan were approved for R&B sector during the current financial year, out of which Rs. 46.59 lakh under state sector were spent upto ending August 2007 and 44 percent work completed.
Speaking on the occasion Charak stressed upon the engineers to work with dedication and devotion and ensure the completion of ongoing works before secretariat move. He asked them to maintain quality while executing the development works to the utter satisfaction of general masses.
