| HC restrains District Revenue Authority from making promotions | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 18 Justice YP Nargotra of J&K High Court Jammu Wing in a petition filed by Daleep Kumar and seven others who are Class IV employees in the Revenue Department District Jammu challenging the promotions to the post of Junior Assistant after hearing Adv Abhinav Sharma, ordered that in the meanwhile respondents shall not make any promotions to the post of Junior Assistant from the cadre of orderlies on the basis of type-test in Jammu district. Justice Nargotra after hearing Adv Abhinav Sharma appearing for the petitioners who during the arguments submitted that petitioners working as class IV employees are facing stagnation for the last so many years, the department instead of filling up the post of Junior Assistant by direct recruitment in terms of recruitments rules, the respondents are making the promotions on the basis of type-test from the cadre of orderlies that too without inviting applications from all the eligible candidates from the orderlies cadre. Court after hearing Adv Abhinav Sharma issued notice to Commissioner/Secretary Revenue Department, Deputy Commissioner Jammu and Assistant Commissioner (General Officer of Deputy Commissioner) Jammu with the direction to the counsel for the petitioners that he shall take necessary steps for service of the respondents with in week's time, failing which this petition shall be deemed to have been dismissed for non-prosecution and in the meanwhile directed respondents that they shall not make any promotion to the post of Junior Assistant from the cadre of orderlies on the basis of type-test in District Jammu.
