Doda | Sep 18 The tall claims made by the Chief Minister Gulam Nabi Azad to eradicate the menace of corruption, nepotism and red tapism have fallen flat as mal practices and misuse of state exchequer by the corrupt officials of both government and semi government departments continue even today .
Highly claimed rational polices in Jammu and Kashmir state seem to have left no impact on the government departments as several blue-eyed and influential officers in this government departments still manage to hold the prize postings for over 10 years, .On the other side, some departments especially in CM home District, continue engaging casual laborers despite ban on recruitments.
It is perhaps very hard to believe but is fact that corruption can not be wiped out from the system where it is deep rooted, so deep that it would take another 60 years to go. Every one knows that corruption is AIDS but at the same time they get addicted to it, as their dream could not come true with out getting themselves indulged in this menace.
There is hardly any Department in Doda district where the roots of corruption are not found mostly in such department which are executing agency for centrally sponsored schemes in the state. Some bureaucrats who are presently enjoying prize postings with important portfolios are also having the corrupt back ground but the government is appreciating them for being corrupt ones.
Glued to their respective postings for all these years, these officers have not only made the mockery of exiting system but also managed to huge amassed property other than their known source of income.
Sources within the departments disclosed here that emboldened of their access in political circles or showing proximity to their immediate bosses, this band of the blue-eyed employees/ officers consequently are becoming ‘Dead Woods’ for the departments.
While taking bribe an official of reputed office, where from people expect rid of corruption one day said in a public view ‘Jab Khuda Say Nahi Darna, To Logu Say Kya Darna’.
The Chief Minister has been making statements of actions against corrupt officers but the some Departments in his home District seem to be unmindful of any such statements. Being a resident of Doda District which has remained the most backward area of state, the CM has conceived various projects including bringing Doda on tourist but the implanting agencies are cold shouldered to give practical shape to the projects envisaged by the CM.
