Shzar and Lavanya Sharma today made it into the final of sub-junior girls group in the ongoing Ist Devinder (Munna) Sharma memorial table tennis tournament underway at Indoor Complex, M A Stadium, here.
In the semi-finals, Shazar beat Tanvi Jamwal in straight sets 11-5, 11-7 while Lavanya trounced Arya Parimoo 11-7, 11-8.
Earlier, in the boys sub-junior group, title contender, Jayesh Singh, Pallav and Shorya qualified for the semi-finals. In the quarterfinals played in the evening, Jayesh beat Paras in easy straight sets 11-4, 11-5 and Pallav outplayed Sunmeet in a well contested match 2-1 (11-7, 9-11, 11-7). Shorya too had to undergo a tough fight before he clinched the match 2-1 (11-8, 10-12, 11-7) against Akshan.
In cadet boys category, Sunmeet and Akshun have reached the final. In the semi-finals played today, Sunmeet beat Ankit 11-4, 11-5 and Akshun outplayed Janu 11-2, 11-4.
