| 17th Jammu District Billiards and Snooker Championship | | Junior Snooker competitions begin today | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 18 Around 40 cueists have come forward to take part in the junior competitions starting tomorrow in the 17th Jammu District Billiards and Snooker Championships being organized under the banner of J&K Billiards and Snooker Association at Billiards Hall, M A Stadium, here. The 20-day long tournament will be declared open at 6 pm by the present of the Association and Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Siddharth Sharma. A couple of top seed players are not playing in the junior group as they have entered the senior age group. In junior group players upto the age of 21 years are only eligible to take part. “Last year district champion, Sumesh Turki is not playing junior snooker this year because he has already crossed the age limit of 21 years. So, Ishuk Choudhary has been placed at top seed, followed by Vidit Gawari at number two position,” said general secretary of the J&K Billiards and Snooker Association, Sheetal Gandotra. The junior snooker competitions would be followed by the junior billiards. There after the snooker and billiards and shall start at the same venue.
