| JKCA to name U-19 squad on Sept 21 | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 18 To give nod to the final 15-member squad for the forthcoming under-19 tourney, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) is presently in the process of short listing cricketers so as to field a competitive side. The Association would announce the final squad on September 21 at Srinagar. Presently, 20 probables, including 10 from Jammu, are undergoing a coaching camp at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Srinagar. This was stated by the general secretary of the JKCA, Salim Khan. “In the camp from August 31st at Srinagar, these young cricketers have put in lot of hard work, so our selectors are confident enough to field a competitive side this time,” said Khan. The nearly six-month long cricketing season, involving teams from North and other Zones including J&K will first begin with limited overs game in this junior group of under-19. The season’s first two games are scheduled between Haryana and Punjab at Kashmir University and J&K and HPCA on September 25 by the fixture committee of the North Zone. Since the selectors from Jammu are yet to join their counter parts from Srinagar in the process, it has been reliably learnt that the four-member panel would be on the job from tomorrow evening. “One of the two selectors from Jammu Vivek Khajuria has left for Srinagar today while Des Rattan shall be leaving tomorrow morning,” informed sources said. Other two selectors in the four-member selection panel are from Srinagar. They are Majid Draboo and Nissar Khandey.
