Police today claimed to have recovered a girl who was kidnapped by a youth in August 2006 and said it has solved the case in just three days.
While the sources informed that the police was reluctant to register the FIR a year ago when the girl was kidnapped, the police says that it was only three days back that the parents of the girl had lodged complaint with them.
Sources in police said that parents of the missing girl had approached Janipur Police Station in August 2006 with the complaint of their missing daughter adding that they also doubt kidnapping. Sources revealed that officers on duty at that time had advised the parents to remain quite and not to press for registration of FIR as this will tarnish their image in society, at the same time giving assurance to find the girl soon.
Sources revealed that after few days of the incident, some locals of the locality informed the police that they had seen the girl with a person whose name was Rajeshwar Singh alias Vicky son of Ramesh Singh resident of R S Pura at that time living in Nai Basti who used to call the girl as sister.
Police on that information took Rajeshwar into custody where he disclosed that the girl, Isha had accompanied him to Delhi from where she came back alone next day. Police took it lightly and released him without registering any case. Sources believed that had the police at that time taken an action, the girl would have bee recovered at that time.
Sources further informed that it was only after receiving information, that the girl had phoned her neghbours in Janipur leaving nmessage for her parents that she has been sold out in Haryana and needs be rescued, the police finally registered the case on September 8 this year. Following this, the police called the parents to the police station and asked them to lodge the formal complaint and sent a team of officers to Haryana where they recovered the girl from a house of Kapoor Singh son of Makhan Ram resident of Pai Haryana District Kethal. Police also arrested Kapoor Singh and brought him to Jammu. Girl told the police that a boy named Vicky came to her house in the absence of her parents and asked her to accompany him to his house where her mother had called her. On reaching his house she was told by the mother of Vicky that a marriage function is at Delhi where they have to go and she is to accompany them. The father and mother of Vicky dropped them to railway station and assured them that that they would reach Delhi by bus. On reaching Delhi, Vicky called one Balbir Singh resident of Narwana Haryana and handed over her to Makhan Ram from whom she was recovered. Sources told that while police is receiving applause for recovering the girl but the fact remains that she could have been recovered a year back, had police acted in time.
