| Nowabad police solves blind murder case | | Lady arrested, nephew absconding | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 18 Nowabad police solved a blind murder case of an army jawan who had gone missing from a local hotel in Jewel area under mysterious circumstances some days back. According to reports some days back the family members of army jawan namely Mohd Hafiz son of Badar Din resident of Mendhar, Poonch lodged a complaint in police station Nowabad that the army jawan who was posted in Srinagar was missing from the hotel under mysterious condition. Reports said the family members told police that when the jawan reached Jammu from Srinagar he telephoned his house and said that he will be coming to home next morning and was staying in a hotel in Jewel area. When the jawan did not reach home even after few days, his family members became suspicious and informed police in this regard. A case was accordingly registered and investigations taken up. Sources said during investigating police team led by SHO Kulbir Handa traced army jawan phone record and found that he had illicit relations with a Basholi borne woman and was also in touch with her for the full night after which he went missing from the hotel. During investigations, police team raided Ramkote area of Basholi where police picked up the woman namely Kamla Devi wife of Anchal Singh resident of Ramkote and during interrogation she confessed that she along with her nephew called on the army jawan in the area and when he came to the lady’s house they murdered him and threw the body in the nearby jungle. Police after receiving the information recovered the body from the area and took the woman to police station for further interrogation. Sources said the woman had also illicit relations with her nephew who was also in the army and after the murder, the nephew of the woman rushed to his unit. Police has registered a case in this regard and a team also dispatched to arrest the nephew. Police has also recovered Rs.16, 000 in cash and a mobile phone belonging to the jawan from the lady and has solved the blind murder case.
