| Now, Ram's management skills in school curriculum | | | New Delhi | Sep 18 First a debate on whether Ram really existed, then apologies that it was not done with the intention of hurting sentiments and now a decision to teach students what Ram and Ramayan really stand for — the Central Government has come a full 360 degrees. The HRD ministry has now asked the National Sanskrit Academy to teach its students the finer points of Ramayan. Says Coordinator Distant Education, National Sanskrit Academy, Ratan Mohan Jha, "Our commission will meet on this and we will think of what should be included and what should not in the course. But we will try and bring in all the important points of Ram's character into the course curriculum." Sample some of the points that students joining the institute for an year long certificate course will now learn: The essence of 400 questions that Ram asked Bharat before he went for his 14 year vanvaas The management skills of Ram — how he manged the Vanar Sena and never let anyone lose heart even in extreme adversity The Mahabharat too is being included in course curriculum, as is the real essence of the Bhagwad Gita and what Arjun felt before taking on the Kauravas. Lauding this move, BJP spokesperson, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "Ram and Ramayan are inbuilt into our system. The Government first says in the affidavit that Ram is a mythological figure and now they are making him a management guru. They do cannot think on different lines." For millions of people across India, Ram is a revered figure. With the National Sanskrit Academy now promoting him as a management guru, a clear new impression has been created about the God.
