Six weeks training programme begins at JU

A six week long training programme on Geographical Information System (GIS) organized by PG Dept. of Geology began toady at Jammu University. The programme was inaugurated by Amitabh Mattoo Vice Chancellor Jammu University.
The programme is based on a basic course on “Remote Sensing, Geographical Information System and Global position system for UG/PG students / Research Scholars/ Faculty teachers in Universities stated AS Jasrotia Reader, PG Dept. of Geology and also the coordinator of this programme. The course has divided into four modules. About 15 universities in India are taking part in this EDUSAT based distance learning programme.
Jasrotia further informed that EDUSAT based training programme would follow less e-learning method and provides direct interaction with the teacher/expert when the lecture will be delivered using EDUSAT satellite communication.
