| Karunanidhi slams 'Ram Sevaks' | | | Chennai| September 19 The centre is in a spot over the Sethusamudram project but it could be in worse trouble after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief M Karunanidhi's strong remarks. In reaction to an attack on his daughter Selvi's house in Bangalore on Tuesday night Karunanidhi said that the attack proved the culture of Ram Sevaks and insisted that there is no proof that Ram or the Ram Setu ever existed. ''The Ram Sevaks have proved their culture. I reiterate what I had said. There is no historical proof that Rama existed or of the bridge been built,'' he said. DMK Chief Karunanidhi's MP daughter Kanimozhi also reacted strongly to the attack on her sister's Bangalore residence. She said that she found such protests sickening. Meanwhile, security personnel have been posted outside the house of Selvi, the daughter of Karunanidhi after her house was attacked on Tuesday night. Several men threw stones at the house in south Bangalore. Selvi was not at home at the time of the attack. Pamphlets found at the house indicate that the attack was in response to the statements made by Karunanidhi on Ram being an imaginary character in the context of the Ram Setu controversy. Patrolling is also on along Hosur Road, the site of an attack on a Tamil Nadu state bus in which two passengers were burnt to death. Police are not linking the attack to the statement made by Karunanidhi. No arrests have been made in either attack and no group has claimed responsibility for them.
