| SDP holds seminar on Nationalism, Peace. | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER

In connection with 60th Independence Day celebrations, Socialistic Democratic Party organizes a one day Seminar on “Religious Teachings, Nationalism and Peace” here in Jammu in which large number of Party workers participated .On the occasion, dance group from Kashmir “Kamand” presented some famous national songs like Bankim Chandras ‘Vandematram’, Iqbals ‘Sare Jahan Se Acha ‘and Daraksha’s ‘Ban Jaye Tiranga…in bewitching Tunes. Three papers were presented on the occasion; First paper was presented by Prof. Mohammad Iqbal on the topic Islam and patriotism in which the paper readers highlighted the teachings of Quran for world peace and nationalism. Second paper entitled lord Krishna message f universal brotherhood and peace was presented by R.C Bharadwaj of Vrinda Van was also thought provoking which portrayed a picture of Vasudev Kutumbkam as the ideal theory of universal brotherhood and he emphasized on the need f spreading this most-secular and humanitarian concept within the country to inculcate leadership tendencies in the contempory India. He said India has the potential to lead the world to peace, prosperity and brotherhood. The third and the last paper were presented by Giani Sunder Singh, which throws the light on teaching of Guru Granth Sahib.
In her presidential speech SDP Supremo Dr. Darakshan Andrabi said that today’s intellectual deliberation establishes one thing clearly that “Humanism’ is the true spirit of every religion and patriotism is quite clearly propagated by all religions. She said it is the duty of religions preaches to give positive directions to the believers. She said whole of the world faces religious terrorism and we face this threat in India also.
