Jammu | Sept 19
Under the very nose of police, illicit trade is continuing unabated and the law protectors are watching all this as mute spectators, at Bag-e-Bahu.
According to the sources, Gorkha Nagar and other adjacent areas, which fall under the jurisdiction of Bagh-e-Bahu police station is the main point of illicit trade and all the illicit trade whether that may be selling of charas, bhukki and flesh trade is running there. Police is well aware of it but is not taking any action against them. Sources also told that the persons who are running illicit trade have good links with police and pay hefty amount to police for running illicit trade .Sources further revealed that it clearly shows that Gorkha Nagar which falls under Bagh-e-Bahu police station is well known and infamous for selling charas and other intoxicant substances but police never arrested even a single drug peddler and recovered intoxicant substances from there. This shows that drug peddlers and others have good relations with police and that’s why they are running their trade without any fear of being caught.
Adding details, sources said that drug peddler are selling charas and bhukki in park and even some girls are also involved in this illicit trade and they find their customers in Bagh-e-Bahu Park. Sources also disclosed that drug peddlers and police are so close with each other that police help them to find the customers and sometimes drug peddlers also inform the police regarding customers who buy charas from them and police on that information catch the customers with charas and later release them after taking money from them. Sources also told that since the lady officer has taken the charge of this police station illicit trade and drug peddlers have become more active
