| Two UP based drug smugglers among three arrested | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 19 Warehouse police today arrested two Utter Pradesh (UP) based drug smugglers among three persons and recovered six kilograms of charas from their possession when they were on their way to supply the consignment to a local supplier. Acting on a tip off about presence of a smuggler in the warehouse area , SP South Zahid Manhas constituted a police party led by IC/PP Warehouse Rajesh Sharma who swung into action and laid a trap in the area. Reports said during the trap police arrested one person namely Khalil Ahmed son of Mohd Rashid resident of Gambir Mungla, Rajouri and recovered ‘charas’ from his possession when he was on way to deliver the consignment and took him to police station for further interrogation. Sources said during interrogation he told police that two UP based smugglers gave him the consignment asking him to drop it in the area. On his disclosure the police team raided in a hideout and arrested two more persons namely Noor Hussain son of Noor Mohd and Raj Kumar alias Raju both residents of Utter Pradesh and also took them to police station. Sources said police recovered six kilograms of charas from their possession and during interrogation they told police that they were active in the city from last many years and visit Jammu with a large quantity of charas every month. They also told police that they delivered some consignments of charas to local smugglers yesterday and today they were on way to deliver last consignment when police arrested them. Police has also registered a case in this regard and is further investigating the matter. Following their arrests some more smugglers and their habourers are also likely to be nabbed shortly, the sources claimed.
