Anil Vaid, Sahil Kundan and Ajay won the first round junior snooker matches in the 17th Jammu District Billiards and Snooker Championship being organized by the J&K Billiards and Snooker Association at Billiards, here today.
While Anil defeated Sahil Gupta 3-1, Ajay had a close contest with Rajiv Gupta beating latter 3-1. In another match, Sahil Kundan outplayed Paramjeet again by three frames to one. Other two scheduled matches could not take place resulting into Akhil was awarded walkover Kapil Verma and Vishal Mehra got walkover Vikrant Kapoor.
The detailed results: Anil Vaid bt Sahil Gupta 58-30, 37-39, 24-50, 57-46; Vishal Mehra got walkover Vikrant Kapoor; Sahil Kundan bt Paramjeet 57-46, 32-71, 48-29, 55-36; Akhil got walkover Kapil Verma; Ajay Kumar bt Rajiv Gupta 70-52, 53-42, 63-74, 56-42.
