| 7 distts confirm entries as state badminton championship starts today | | | Early Times Reporter

Seven districts have confirmed the entries for the five-day long 35th State Badminton Championship being organized by the J&K Badminton Association at Indoor Complex, here from tomorrow.
“We have got a good response this time as seven districts of Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu have confirmed their entries for participation,” said general secretary of the Association, Dr O D Sharma.
Otherwise a regular participant in the state level competitions, district Udhampur is yet to confirm their participation in the competition.
In all, around 150 shutters in both boys and girls sections have submitted their entries for participation in seven different events of singles and doubles. “Yesterday was the last day of entries and now we are compiling the same for final draws,” he added.
Since, the opening function is scheduled to take place at 4 pm, the organizers have decided to start conducting the initial rounds of matches from tomorrow morning so as to minimize the pressure.
