| Legislators seek recruitment drive, security cover to minorities | | | Early Times Reporter
Jammu | Sep 20- A delegation of State Congress leaders during their meetings with several Central Ministers at New Delhi have sought special recruitment drive for the unemployed youth of the state in general and that of border areas in particular.
The delegation comprising Abdul Ahad Vakil, R S Chib and Arvind Singh Micky, legislators during their meeting with the Defence Minister drew the attention of the Minister towards the growing unemployment problem in the state and demanded a special recruitment drive by the Army especially in border areas and the areas falling on Loc and International Border.
Micky, who is also the Chairman of the Minority Cell of JKPCC, made a special request for the security cover in the areas where minorities are putting up in the valley and also demanded increase in the deployment of forces in such areas.
The delegation also called on Union Home Minister and Tourism Minister and also senior office bearers of AICC during their stay in the Union capital.
The legislators discussed in detail with these Ministers the prevailing political and security situation in the state and also gave an overview of the measures taken by the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for the speedy development of the state and containing militancy. They also discussed organizational matters with the AICC office bearers and steps taken to strengthen the party at the grass roots level.
