| SVO traps two revenue officials red handed | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 20 State Vigilance Organization today caught red handed Abdul Salam Dar- Patwari Halqa Dharambugh, Kralapora, Chadoora and his junior Altaf Ahmad Dar while accepting bribe of Rs.2000 and Rs.500 respectively for demarcation and issue of extracts of vevenue records to the complainant. Complainant Mushtaq Ahmad Wani lodged a written report with Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir stating that his brother-in-law namely Nissar Ahmad Rather who is suffering from cancer wanted to sell a piece of land to defray his medical expenses. He applied for demarcation of his 10 marlas of land and issue of extracts of revenue records to Patwari Halqa Dharambugh Abdul Salam Dar, Patwari and his junior Altaf Ahmad Dar demanded Rs.2000 and Rs.500 respectively for this purpose. Case FIR No. 52/2007 P/S VOK was registered and investigation taken up. In the course of investigation the officials of SVO proceeded to Kralpora, laid a successful trap during which both the officials were caught red handed while accepting bribe. The tainted money was recovered from their possession in presence of independent witnesses. Both the officials were taken into custody for further investigation
