Hectic schedule mark the opening day of the 35th State Badminton Championship which was declared open by the president of J&K Badminton Association, Sudershan Singh Wazir in a well attended function at the Indoor Complex of MA Stadium, here today.
Participants from seven districts are contesting for the top honours in this five-day long championship, organized by the J&K Badminton Association. In all, around 150 shutters are taking part in different age groups including veterans. The participating districts are Jammu, Kathua, Poonch, Rajouri, Srinagar, Budgam and Pulwama.
Those present in the inaugural function were D D Magotra, Fayaz Ahmed, Dr Pradeep khyadhar, Krishan Lal Sharma (Sports Officer) and Rajan Sharma (Manager Indoor Complex).

Under-10 year boys singles: Radyansh bt Dravil Gupta 21-7, 21-8; Akhil got walkover Sourav; Rajat bt Armaan 21-11, 21-6; She bt Atharav 21-3, 21-1; Sahil bt Revant 21-9, 21-13; Tushar bt Darum Sharma 21-16, 21-16.
Under-10 year girls singles: Mega bt Dehar Mir 21-15, 13-21, 21-5; Neetu bt Falak 21-13, 20-22, 22-20.
Mini boys singles: Akhil Khajuria got walkover Mamoon; Ojus Dhani got walkover Aditya; Deepak bt Saksham 21-8, 21-5; Garvit bt Tanav Gupta 21-1, 21-3; Hardeep bt Vikrant Singh 21-11, 21-12; Akshay bt Sarvagya 21-9, 21-17; Owais-u-din got walkover Nazir Ahmed; Subham Sharma bt Daljeet Singh 21-13, 21-19.
