Jammu, Sept 2: Continuing its efforts to make Jammu greener, Parivartan (NGO) today continues its plantation drive under the project Green Jammu. On the occasion, members of the NGO planted various types of plants, so that the Jammu city becomes greener. Speaking on the occasion, President, Parivartan, Vikas Sharma said that the prevailing rainy season is best time for plantation and their NGO has taken it on mission mode to cover maximum suitable areas under plantation. He said under their ongoing project Green Jammu, thousands of plant of fruit and ornamental and other species are being planted in identified locations keeping in mind local weather conditions. Seeking the cooperation of the people, Sharma asked all stakeholders to be part of their ongoing plantation drive so that ecology can be maintained properly. He further appealed people to help the NGO in saving the green gold and increase it by taking active participation in plantation drive. Among others who planted the plants in various locations included Vice President Rajinder Singh, Vice President Subodh Bhasin, Treasurer Vishal Targotra, Rohit Jandial, Ajay Meenia, Media Incharge Sahil Sharma and other members Sandeep Singh, Rohit Sharma, Ankay Sharma, Manish Singh Jamwal, Krishan Sharma and Ashu Sharma. |
