Ironically, when no FIR has been lodged against the youth, who was arrested on September 15 from his home, a senior police officer today admitted his `illegal' detention. The youth, a collie by profession, was brought to Kishtwar on the same and has been kept in interrogation cell since than, sources said. "We have been running from pillar to post since his arrest as STF and local police had completely denied his arrest", Muhammad Amin, elder brother of Jalal said. Gh Hussain another youth, who was also arrested by the police admitted that Jalal was picked up with him. However, the search of Jalal's family came to an end today, when on the intervention of some political leaders and district administration the police admitted his custody. Additional Deputy Commission Kishtwar Riaz Ahmed Zargar intervened in the matter after a deputation of the villagers called upon him today. Following the intervention police admitted his arrest and said that he was persuading the youth to join militancy. Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Mumtaz Ahmed said that Jalal is in custody of STF and will be handed over to the local police today. He said that there are serious allegations against him and he has been detained for questioning. Former MLA of the area, Qazi Jalal-ud-Din condemned the police action and said that the matter is serious and should be probed. "If Jalal was involved in any kind of militancy activity police was duty bound to lodge an FIR against him soon after his arrest", he added.
