| Six students hurt as school wall collapses | | Government orders probe | | Early Times Reporter Jammu|Sep 21 At least half a dozen students were injured when a wall of a private school collapsed at New Plot locality of Jammu on Friday morning. Eyewitnesses said when the school opened this morning, and students were gathering to offer morning prayers, portion of a wall collapsed. About half a dozen students who were standing near the wall were injured in the incident, they said. Panic gripped the school and students ran out for safety. The passerby rushed to the school and shifted the injured students to GMC Hospital, Jammu. However, all the six students were later discharged. Meanwhile, government has ordered a probe in the incident and directed Chief Education Officer Jammu to look into the matter. Minister of State for Education Manjit Singh has asked the CEO to visit the site and enquire the cause of incident and see that whether poor quality material has not been used in construction of the said wall. The minister said that those found involved in the causes that led to the incident be punished severely.
