| Govt. fully aware about the problem of displaced: Chib | | | Early Times Reporter

Addressing the meeting of displace persons of 1947, 1965 and 1971, the MLC R.S Chib said that the government led by Ghulam Nabi Azad is fully aware of the problems faced by them during the last 60 years. He said that it is due to the efforts of Azad that the pending issues of refugees have been discussed in the round Table conference charied by Prime Minister and further said that he has already spoken to financial commissioner (Relief) J&K G.D Wadhava who is the chairman of a committee constituted by the government of J&K on the directions of the Chief Minister to settle the demands of displaced persons. He assured the meeting that other major issued will be solved at Central Government level will through good offices of CM.
In the meeting representatives of the refugees also discussed about the payment of compensation to those families who have been dragged into prolong litigation for the land which was allotted to them by revenue.
Chib on the occasion said that supplementary list of chhamb displace persons of 1971 for cash compensation in lieu of deficiency of land be forwarded to government of India for sanction of funds in order to meet the requirements on this account. He in the meeting said that he has taken up this issue in the legislative council through calling attention motion that at least 5% seats be reserved for the wards of displaced persons of in different professional colleges.
