Woman dies under mysterious circumstances, parents allege murder | | | Early Times Report Samba, Sept 5: Locals and family members of a woman, who had died yesterday at the house of her-in laws at Nagrota near Uttarvahini, held a protest here today and blocked the national highway. Alleging that the Madhu Sharma was murdered by her in-laws, they were demanding immediate arrest of the accused. After placing her body in the middle of the road, the protesting family members and relatives blocked the traffic on Jammu-Pathankot road and raised slogans against police for its alleged inaction. They agreed to lift dharna only after police officers, who visited them, assured that necessary action would be taken against the culprits. Madhu was married to Rakesh Kumar about two years back. She is survived by a 10-month-old daughter. Her parents alleged that their daughter was often harassed and physically tortured for giving birth to a girl child but every time after the intervention of some elderly persons, they sent her back to the house of in-laws with the hope that all the things would settle with time. However, on Sunday evening, the parents received information that their daughter had received burn injuries at her in-laws' house. Alleging that it was a clear case of murder, the parents have lodged a complaint against her husband and his family members. |
