Female rag picker allegedly murdered, accused held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 7: Acting promptly the police have apprehended the main accused involved in alleged killing of a middle-aged female rag picker this morning at Narwal area. Police have registered a case in this regard. Police sources said that today in the morning at around 8:00 am, heated arguments started between two rag pickers over a petty issue following which a scuffle broke out between them. "During scuffle, the alleged accused reportedly hit at the head of deceased with a magnet attached stick used for collection of rags and scrap from the roads and drains", said police sources. They said the deceased has been identified as Moni (45) wife of Late Mohan of Bihar presently staying at Rajiv Nagar, Narwal while identity of the alleged accused has been established Raju (35) of Dansal. Police said that after getting the information they reached the spot and shifted profusely bleeding Moni to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu where she was declared as brought dead. Later, the body was shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for post-mortem and other legal formalities. Meanwhile Police registered a case against the accused under 302 of RPC while further investigations are on in this matter. |
