In an impressive function organized by JMC Corporator of BJP from ward No. 10 ,Priya Sethi distributed 20 sewing machines among poor and needy women and stationary items among 100 school going children. About 40 veteran social and political figures of the area were also felicitated by presenting momentos on this occasion.
Member BJP National Executive & former State President Dr. Nirmal Singh, who was the chief guest of the function, appreciated the organizers for felicitating the veterans who worked throughout their lives for the cause of the nation and the masses. He said we should be proud to see these people sitting among us and learn from their lives. He said the present policies of the Congress-led coalition governments at the centre and in the state have disturbed the social fabric which is not good for the nation. He said the recent demolition of the living room within the premises of a Hindu temple in Indira Chowk area by the JMC authorities has exposed the Congress-led government for its anti-Hindu approach. He said this was done intentionally to hurt the feelings of Hindus as the Congress led governments at the centre and in the state have least respect for Hindus and their religious sensitivities.
He said dozens of constructions are taking place in Bhatindi, Sidhra areas of Jammu city without any prior permission and no one dares to even visit these areas only because the members of a particular faith reside in majority there but existence of even old temples or other constructions in the premises of temples are main targets of the government. He warned the government to desist from arousing the religious sentiments of Hindus. State Priya Sethi, in her welcome address, said that she is feeling honoured today as she has been able to work for the public cause during the last about two and half years and added that she would work more vigorously in the coming days to ensure that her ward is developed as a Model ward and the needy and poor people are benefitted through her.
Mahant Shri Rameshwar Dass ji of Purani Mandi temple, political and social figures including Shiv Kumar Gupta, Kavinder Gupta, Mohan Singh, Ramesh Sharma, Tilak Raj Sharma, Mamta Singh, Darshana Devi, Anil Masoom, Bittu Pradhan, Pawan Pandoh, Madan Abrol and Parvesh Kumar were prominent among those who were present on the occasion.
