| PDP for measures to ensure uninterrupted power | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Sep 22 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stressed on the government to take effective measures which would ensure uninterrupted power supply and check on prices of essential commodities in the holy month of Ramadan. This was stated by the party senior vice president Molvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari while presiding over a meet of district presidents and zonal presidents of Baramulla and Kupwara at party head office today. Ansari added that the commitment made by the government that there would be an uninterrupted power supply in the holy month of Ramadan, should be implemented in letter and spirit, especially in rural areas of the state. The meeting was also attended by party general secretary Abdul Rehman Veeri, general secretary Nizam-u-Din Bhat and PDP political secretary Peerzada Mansoor Hussain. The party affairs were deliberated upon threadbare in the meeting and a comprehensive plan was chalked out to strengthen the party in state peripheries. Ansari while discussing the security scenario in valley expressed his concern over the police actions against people saying that during PDP's tenure the situation was not so grim and the police action was restricted to a large extent. Stressing on the need to work for the party promotion he added that the workers should work with utmost sincerity and dedication so that the people feel the difference. The party agenda, forthcoming elections, security situation, and the overall change in political dimension of the valley were also discussed in the meeting. The participants hailed the PDP Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and PDP President Ms Mehbboba Mufti for their endeavors to bring the state to normalcy.
